Western Vibes in Pioneertown, CA

Hello, hello from Pioneertown!

Sharing the first of a few posts from our recent SoCal sojourn to Joshua Tree and its surroundings today, and its one that comes as close to time travel as can be! Pioneertown's a short half hour drive from the heart of Joshua Tree and makes for a fun pitstop if you're looking to be transported into California's resident western movie set circa the 1950s, complete with a side-eye sporting black beauty of a horseyyyy! It's also home to Pappy + Harriet's, a desert establishment that regularly hosts musical acts big and small while serving up delicious food and drinks. We stopped for lunch when there was no live music, but definitely recommend checking out what I imagine would be a lively night scene if possible. :)

I wore this edgy-meets-western outfit for the excursion and felt immediately like I fit right in! I've owned this band tee for the longest time and am always amazed at its versatility... a good band tee never disappoints, apparently not even when paired with the best of them ruffled skirts! This black frilly skirt is a recent favorite addition to my early fall wardrobe... I love the effortless movement the wrap silhouette brings. Paired the look with some statement accessories like these earrings (20% off with code FESTIVE15!) and some studded booties, and I couldn't help twirling my way through Pioneertown! MMS or Westworld extra? ;)

Thank you for reading and happy hump day!
XO Sushmitha :)
