Jewel-toned Slip Dress: Denver, Colorado

A wee bit too fancy for a Tuesday, you say? Anything goes during holiday season, I say! This is the second look that Amanda and I shot in downtown Denver (this look was the first) and even as we ducked in and out of traffic and weaved through pedestrians at busy Larimer Square, the darling string lights above us and the bustling energy of the place made it undeniably festive even back in October! We sadly had to leave at the end of golden hour, but it had me wishing for more time to people-watch and check out the many shops and eateries in the area. :)

The slinky slip dress is an it girl favorite this season, but there's no reason for any FOMO amongst those of us living in colder weather. Cue this look right here, when I tucked my mini version into a favorite thrifted midi skirt on a cool fall evening. Jewel tones like this emerald green and decadent fabrics like this satin-y silk are individually so festive.. gimme them both in one piece and I'm in love! :) No doubt you've noticed by now that I'm wearing my brown booties and this suede jacket AGAIN, but when they go with practically every outfit you wear... #cantstopwontstop

If you're like me and your concerns over buying that slip dress range from weather to modesty (the lack thereof, rather! ;)), take my word for it's versatility. Summer date nights saw it paired with heels and a duster cardigan, followed by this post's fall combo. Come winter, if my blogging can keep up with my outfit ideas, you'll soon see it layered over a turtleneck and over-the-knee boots, or pulled into that work friendly strategy of wear-it-as-a-silk-cami with a sharp blazer and wide leg trousers. Ohh, the endless options!

Thank you for reading and have a great week ahead!
XO Sushmitha :)
