Velvet Party Pants: Denver, Colorado
/Happy Friday from one overworked cookie to another! A week of wintry weather and caffeine OD-ing is about to turn this Friday into a fry-day, but not before I give you some holiday dressing inspo to mull over this weekend. Not sure about you all, but I've already had to RSVP to at least one holiday party.. if you know me, that's all it takes to get me into full on outfit planning mode! ;)
Velvet has been decreed as the fabric of the season and if you peeped into any store at all on Black Friday, you'll know that the fashion industry is taking the announcement very seriously! It's everywhere in all colors, shapes and sizes and while my 1990s self didn't take to it much back in the day, my current self is having no problem owning it left, right and center! The luxe fabric feels and looks so decadent, making it the perfect sophisticated older sister to sparkles and sequins this holiday season. I found these high-waisted velvet skinny pants on clearance at Target (where else?!) recently and jumped at the chance to pair it with pinks and reds for a festive city girl look.
On my fall trip to Colorado, I stayed in downtown Denver for a few nights on account of a Conference I was attending and I took the one free evening in my schedule to meet up with my sweet and talented photographer friend Amanda Lee, who took me to her favorite spots in the downtown area to shoot. We had so much fun chatting over this and that over the shoot, before catching a killer sunset on a warm fall night. Making new friends to explore a new city with may just be one of my favorite by-products of blogging. :)
Thank you for reading and have a wonderful weekend!
XO Sushmitha :)
