Only and only during a work trip do the inner workings of my mind bear resemblance to that of an undercover agent. Bear in mind, the motor coordination and mental math capabilities stay in the middle-school child bracket, but when it comes to elaborately planning and executing them post- 5 PM extra-curricular activities, I am adept. ;) There's always a long list of things to see and do and eat when visiting a new city, but when I'm in a city that I've already been to, I make sure to find (/fixate/obsess) at least one new experience to add to the love list, as was the case on my recent conference trip to San Diego. It took me no time after learning that I was going in the same month as the blooming of the oh-so-famous Flower Fields to decide that that's what my new experience would be! A short drive from San Diego is the magical floral heaven that are the Carlsbad Flower Fields, and on my one free day after the conference, the bestie (who I call my Instagram-best-friend ;)) and I made the day trip with big smiles and a camera in tow. And my oh my, did it live up to the hype!

Endless rows of a rainbow of ranunculus greeted us on all sides, and I remember my first response being "I don't know which way to go!"! These pictures are nearly not enough and do no justice to the 700 acres of beauty, but needless to say, I wasn't going to leave without 4,650 pictures at the very least.. talk about sensory overload!
