The Maxi Top

Another Friday, another weekend appropriate outfit here on Ms. MS! Because, let's be honest, it's almost time for Sunday brunch and it's crunch time. I say this because the outfit in today's post was born solely from one of my usual Friday post-dinner unwinding sessions spent scouring the internet for weekend outfit inspiration/50%-of-my-reason-to-go-to-brunch-in-the-first-place. Okay, scratch that because I'm 200% about maximum food consumption on the weekend, but hey, what to wear comes a close second! So as I was saying, my perusal of the latest fashion trends the other night resulted in my repeated gawking at the same single street style rage- the maxi top. In cruder terms, the dress-over-pants trend. I have to admit, being Indian and oh-so familiar with the tunic over pants concept (traditionally called a kurta or salwar), I kind of felt slow headed for not having thought of this brilliant adaptation sooner. :| But a little inspiration and a thorough rummage through my closet later, I felt somewhat better.. not sure if K could say the same after the mess that was the bedroom, though! ;) Not wanting to spend money on a passing trend, I dug out this old high-low shirtdress and paired it with high-waisted shorts for a budget friendly and summery version of the trend. Shopping in my own closet and a colorful construction grid on our way to brunch.. this post sure had me happy that Sunday!

Thank you for reading, and have a fun weekend!
XO Sushmitha :)
