Tassels & Lace in Cusco
/One last post for the week before it's Rosé time! This is the third look from Peru that we shot while in Cusco, unless you count the following several days that I spent in hiking appropriate outfits aka leggings + sneaks on repeat, as blog-worthy fashion. ;) After Lima, we spent two full days in the valleys of Cusco before beginning our hike to Machu Picchu, and the charming city quickly became all of our favorite stops on our journey through the country. Nestled in the Andes at about 11,000 feet above sea level, Cusco is sprawled along the valleys to offer the most stunning vistas of the mountains in every direction you look! The city is steeped in the rich culture and history of the Incan period followed by when the Spanish took over, resulting in the most beautiful mix of century-old Incan temples, smiling Andean faces and modern Spanish architecture throughout the city. We were so taken with the cobblestoned streets and colorful wooden balconies we saw everywhere.. needless to say, several photo ops occurred along the way as we explored the central Plaza De Armas on our first and only relatively free day! Lunch in one of the balconies overlooking the busy plaza during the day, and later in the evening after dark, sipping on Coca tea back at one of the balconies to watch the twinkling lights of the city on the mountains while reflecting on our amazing day, will always be one of my favorite highlights of our trip. :)
I wore this simple and casual look for this full day of walking on cobblestoned streets, and after seeing the heavily tasseled and intricate Peruvian fabrics on some local women, thought that my adorable tassel and lace A.T. Avenue blouse was quite the appropriate pick! I love the combination of pastels and white for the summer, don't you? :) It was a rare moment when one of the charming alleys happened to be somewhat empty, so we snapped some quick pictures along the vibrant blue doors and balconies! I hope you're as inspired to visit Cusco as much as we loved experiencing it!
Thank you for reading, and have a great weekend!
