Summer Stripes
/I always think of Buffalo as the land of extremes (think grain silos and chicken wings.. one place, two ends of the spectrum! :|) and that's especially true in the context of weather. As if to over-compensate for the bitter cold winters, the summers are humid and hot, hot, hot! Between being in Florida a few days back and now back in Buffalo, sweating's become my primary to-do. It takes a good camera to hide the beads of sweat rolling down my face during shoots these days, and for that, I shall be eternally grateful to mine. It also takes a really good dress to motivate me to shoot in said heat these days, and that's exactly what this striped beauty is. :)
Stripes and summer could almost pass for synonyms in fashion terminology and little else in the world of stripes screams summer as much as a classic fit-and-flare striped dress. I thought the color combination in this one was so fresh and lent itself to several styling options, the obvious one to me being the picnic-ky denim jacket + wicker bag + bow-topped wedges combo. I've developed quite the small collection of Hutch Design dresses and skirts now thanks to a long-standing working relationship with them over the seasons, and I'm always impressed by the quality of the fabric, the petite-friendly fit and (of course ;)) the ever-existent pockets.
