Red Lace Dress: La Jolla, San Diego
/Happy Fri-yay, my dearies! It comes just in time for us to make a mental escape to my favorite San Diego in the second installment of my evening spent at the beautiful Scripps Coastal Reserve. The 1000 acre reserve consists of the coastline and some beautiful sandy beaches, but the best views are from the upland area overlooking the ocean, which is where we spent our evening. After being welcomed by expansive wildflower fields at golden hour (see last post for more of that!), we walked directly along the rough trail to the cliffs. We were met by the most beautiful sweeping views of the Pacific and the start of what we could already tell was going to be an even more beautiful sunset. I mean, look at these cotton candy skies!
I'd carried along this stunning wine-red lace maxi dress on a whim, but after the first shoot, Karissa took one look at the light and had me rushed back to the car for an awkward but so-worth-it car change! It took some flailing of limbs and widening of eyes before we got these editorial-esque shots at the edge of the cliff, but I love the drama the dress creates against the backdrop. What I also thought was dramatic yet so prettily subtle is the magenta pink lining underneath that deep red lace.. look closely and you'll agree. :)
Thank you for reading and have a wonderful weekend!
XO Sushmitha :)
