Smooth Transition: White Button-down + Rose Print Skirt

Happy Monday, my dears! I took a brief blogging hiatus to go be a good scientist at an annual conference at sunny San Diego, but I'm back with my mind and soul rejuvenated after a few amazing days of sun, sand and soulmate-level-besties. Needless to say, all that California goodness has now ruined me for the Northeast, which welcomed me back with snowy open arms this past weekend. Home sweet home, eh? :| Of course, the style blogger in me managed to shoot a few looks for the bloggity blog while in San Diego that I'm excited to share, so stay tuned!

Unfortunately, this faux-Spring we're having means real layers, and a recent rainy day meant a reprise of my trusty trench coat and over-the-knee boots. I've always been a fan of the classic white button-down shirt, and jumped at the chance to style this one with oversized sleeves as an off-shoulder top! Qualifies as a Point Pennywise hack for all those button-down shirts, yes? :) Also a hack- this slicked back hairdo for icky day (or let's be honest, more than a day) old hair, stolen from the runways at Fashion Week last month. All in all, I wore this look and when I looked in the mirror, adjectives such as smooth and clean came to mind.. On a rainy bad hair day, it was enough. :)

Thank you for reading and have a wonderful week ahead!
XO Sushmitha :)
