Embellished Velvet Blazer: Half Moon Bay, California
/Comin' at ya with another holiday season inspired look today, one that's far more festive and fun than the puffer coat + snow boots combo this week's forced upon most of us here in the Northeast! As you can imagine, I had some choice words (not including festive :|) to describe this oh-so-happy time of year as I battled with my ice pick this morning, so trust me when I say that this post happens to be as much therapy for me as inspiration for you! The reason being that it takes me back and away to a gorgeous California fall day at Half Moon Bay, when K and I got super lucky at the beach with the sun out in full force. For anyone visiting, I highly recommend driving up to The Ritz Carlton property like we did! As visitors, the cliff-top location gives you access to a private beach and amazing options for drinks and meals, including outdoor seating with gorgeous views (see below) of the beach and beyond. It was the perfect local afternoon getaway while in the Bay Area. :)
After frolicking on the beach in a much more casual version of this outfit (oversized sweater instead of the blazer and cozy socks + boots instead of pumps), I quickly switched into this look for a date on the sprawling outdoor lawns. I may have squealed out load when I found this beaded velvet blazer while thrifting and love that it pairs perfectly with most of my closet, including these chunky-heeled burgundy pumps I've worn on repeat lately! These and the mules in my previous blog post are from an app store called Madora (available for free).. you have to see it to believe their incredibly on trend accessory collection for <$30!
