Olive Cableknit + Moto Leggings: Aspen, Colorado

Hope those of you that were part of camp Diwali and/or Halloween this past weekend are holding up well in the face of adversity aka the work week! I myself have had to overcome major cabin fever and festivities FOMO after succumbing to flu season on Friday night (great timing, eh? :|), so I'm right with ya if you've been furrowing your eyebrows all day as a passive aggressive attack on the world. Rising above the fray, however, is my blogger alter ego, because here is an all new post in the Colorado series from beautiful Aspen!

As most leaf peeping Colorado travel guides will tell you, Aspen is a gold mine for fall foliage! The ski town takes its name from its abundance of Aspen trees, which lend the characteristic golden yellow color to the Rocky Mountains come fall. We spent two nights in the Aspen area, starting with a relaxed afternoon in downtown Aspen- lunching at Bamboo Bear (very hole-in-the-wall but amazing inexpensive Vietnamese food!) and then walking it off on the cobblestoned streets laden with leaves and surrounded by scenic views all around. While the center of town itself was charming and lively enough to warrant several squeals of excitement, K and I both agreed that the drives in and out of town took the cake. As you can probably tell from these pictures, we had to pull over more than once to take in the sights and snap some pictures!

I blame my outfit choice on my over-prepared Northeast mind (where 60 degrees almost always feels ten degrees lower :|), but Colorado surprised us with perfect moderate fall weather even at higher altitudes in the mountains, so much so that I could easily have gotten away in a weather-appropriate dress or skirt. Nevertheless, I was toasty warm in my light layers- a swingy cableknit sweater over a printed chiffon turtleneck paired with the perfect pair of moto leggings that I wore on repeat through the trip.

Thank you for reading and have a fabulous week ahead!
XO Sushmitha :)
