Spring Staples: Crochet Bag + Neutral Cardigan
/Happy unofficial first day of summer, y'all! These wishes may be unauthorized by the calendar for a while more, but for all reasons that matter (read as: my closet and general upkeep of sanity and health), it is summa summa summa time here in the Northeast! We had a gloriously hot long weekend that mostly consisted of me sprawled out in the sunbathed backyard pretending to work hard while I hardly worked. I almost caved to guilt one time, but as if a sign from the universe, the neighbor's cat and I stretched and yawned at pretty much the exact same time. All was well in the world, after all.
Speaking of summertime, I'm yet to share a few Spring looks before the shorts make their first appearance and today's look happens to be a personal favorite, chock-full of what I consider to be spring/summer staples. While out for an evening stroll with the fam bam (when we stumbled upon this little secret garden!), I revisited this dusky pink shirtdress from last season and paired it with neutral basics and a touch of crochet. I'm so excited to be partnering with Billabong on a couple of looks and my first pick- a neutral comfy lighweight cardigan- has already become an everyday go-to. Chic basics are always a good buy, and considering my low cold threshold, you're sure to see this versatile layer make an appearance every so often!
Crochet is a hot pick this summer, but despite the airy feel of the fabric, crochet clothing can often feel a bit risque for everyday wear. Enter crochet accessories, the perfect addition to any outfit to add a bit of that relaxed boho beach vibe. My top recommendation for the season- a crochet bag like this hand-crocheted beauty from the new Sayulita collection at The Sak. If you're ogling at the beaded tassels and the embroidered handle detail like I first did, then swing by my Instagram later to win this same Sayulita crochet bag in a color of your choice!
