Siren Red

When I'm in, I'm all in, you guys. I may or may not be known to snigger at overly priced candle-lit dinners and Hallmark's marketing tactics around this time, but K can attest to my love for all things sappy, mushy, sugary, syrupy sweet any day and everyday of the year, so I see no reason to not bust out the reds and call it a (V-)Day! Whether you believe in cliches or not, a little red dress is one of those year round closet staples, right in the same bracket as the LBD and the LWD. This siren red number, with it's floral lace neck inlay and fit-and-flare silhouette, reminds of Sophia Loren's famous comparison of a good dress to a barbed wire fence, that it must "serve it's purpose without obstructing the view". Nailed it, Sof.

Something about the pairing of this flirty dress and this classic tweed maxi coat (which may be my favorite thrift score ever!) feels....oh, I don't know, Bond Girl-ish! Like I should be furtively strutting through a maze of side streets for a secret rendezvous on a helipad at the top of a 100 story skyscraper. What can I say.. my imagination spares no details! ;)

Happy Valentine's Day, lovies! Have a wonderful love-filled weekend with your loved ones and thank you so much for reading!
XO Sushmitha :)
