Hello hello, September! When the leaves change color, the country ODs on pumpkin-flavored everything and those of us living in the glaciers begin the yearly ritual of despising the mini-worlds of Florida and California (Well, if you don't do the latter, I do enough if it for all of us!). Before you think I'm going to be a whiny annoyance for the months to come, let me redeem myself by saying that I do truly love Fall fashion. Except for the hat hair (Worse! Beanie hair!), I'm looking forward to everything Fall in fashion: the dark nail colors, rich, deep, earth toned color palettes in clothes, autumn layering and rediscovering the comfort of boots. I'm so excited to show you guys all of my favorite fall trends in the posts to come! <Read on to find out how you can get a major, like really major, closet upgrade this fall!> But while the sun is still shining, let's keep the leg baring going, shall we? ;)
Faux-leather has taken its place through all seasons for a few years now, and has become so much more versatile than it once was! While leather jackets are a fall staple and leather pants have become a trusty fallback to denim in the winter, I'm absolutely loving how its made its way into spring/summer clothing. Fashion bloggers and street style fashionistas have mastered the trend with faux-leather crop tops, skirts and shorts aplenty. I chanced upon this pastel pink faux-leather skirt during a recent sale at Forever21. The asymmetric cut, the quilted detailing and the versatile color.. how could it not have come home with me?!
While my initial thoughts were to style the skirt in an edgy look that's typical to leather, I love the unexpected pairing of something edgy with more playful, feminine pieces. And what's more feminine than the biggest bow there ever was, right? :D Plus, I couldn't pass up on the chance to wear white the day after Labor Day, so. . .
