Flair for Flare

Can somebody tell me why Daylight Savings is not celebrated as the biggest holiday of the year? Agreed, I cry myself out of bed the first couple of days when the alarm says it's 7 am but it's actually a ridiculously early 6 am, but then, I come home after work and there's still three hours of light and what feels like a second day's evening before I go to bed! This also means that my original plan to leave you guys hanging until next week for outfit posts changed and I managed to fit in a shoot during the week, so you're welcome-slash-thank you for reading this and validating that effort.

Today, I'm sharing a 70s-inspired, boho, hippie look that's my take on the festival style that's soon going to be the focus of all the fashion world, since the biggest music festivals are just around the corner. Aiding me in this is my second pair of jeans from Articles of Society (first look with AOS denim here) - a ridiculously comfy wide-legged style that I almost never want to take off! (Also ridiculous because I distinctly recall smugly tossing my beloved bootlegged jeans in college. Bad mistake, and lesson learned! ) The 70s flared bottom trend has made a huge comeback, and fellow petites that are wary can rest all fears and go right ahead, because the style is incredibly leg-lengthening and flattering! Going full steam ahead with the 70s vibe, I paired the jeans with this adorable, flowy Pink Blush top with bell sleeves and fringe hems. I've mentioned before that Fringe has been and will stay on to be a top trend this year.. but if it isn't in your comfort zone, pieces such as this top are a safe bet to try out the trend.

With statement pieces in the outfit, I kept the accessorizing minimal with a delicate gold From Dylan ring set and Mint and Lolly double studded pearl earrings.

Something about embracing trends that are not so typical to my style feels so good! But that's what I love so much about fashion.. the free-spiritedness of it. :) Would you or have you tried these trends? I'd love to hear your take on them!

Thank you for reading, and have a great weekend!

XO Sushmitha :)
