Daytime Glam

Happy Friday, my peeps! I greet you from the wild jungles of Puerto Maldonado in the Peruvian Amazon basin, and you better believe that I'm pinching myself even as I type this out! I mean, this is the stuff that I saw in wide-eyed awe on National Geographic.. it was a faraway, magical rainforest that I could visit only when belting out the soundtrack to 'Ferngully: The Last Rainforest' as long as that ancient machine called as the tape recorder was still in vogue. But yet, here I am in full reach to the poisonous frogs and the Anacondas of the world. #blessed

While you will hear more of this last leg (and all the rest!) of our trip to Peru in future recap travel posts to come, today's post actually goes back to when K & I made a quick trip to NYC on Easter weekend. (I may make us sound like quite the jet-setters, but trust me, we've just had a lucky break lately. :|) Remember when I shared looks from day 1 (here) and 2 (here)? I'm finally getting around to sharing the remainder of the outfits from that trip, starting with this retro inspired daytime Spring look full of pretty pastels and soft textures. We shot these photos in the center of the Meatpacking District on our way to Chelsea Market on an impossibly windy day, and my jumping in and out of NYC's yellow cab riddled traffic made for quite the spectators' show, to say the least. ;)

How stunning is this neon yellow statement necklace from Crazy & Co.?! Something tells me I'll be reaching for this one all summer long!

Also on repeat are these sunglasses from Polette's Eyewear.. I'd been looking for a double-bridged pair that fit my face frame for the longest time, and I'm happy to report that I found my perfect pair in these. :) Polette cuts out the middleman to provide quality eyewear straight from their workshop at affordable prices.. now, that's something this thrifty girl can get behind!

See you on the other side of all the exciting, exotic dangers of the Amazon!

Thank you for reading, and have a fab weekend!
XO Sushmitha :)
