Crochet & Suede Coverup: Culebra, Puerto Rico
/Beach lovers, unite! If you are a member of this happy club, then you're familiar with wanderlust-ing over what seems to be an endless 'beach bucket list' and then, the oh-so-satisfying feeling of crossing off a beach on that list every once in a blue moon or so. I was able to gently but firmly take a pen to Flamenco Beach in Culebra on our recent travels to Puerto Rico, famously ranked by TripAdvisor, National Geographic and other travel authorities as one among the top 10 most beautiful beaches in the world. After a hilariously shaky start to our mini-trip to Culebra, we bee-lined it to Flamenco Beach for a beach day and boy, oh boy, did it live up to it's titles! A hundred shades of turquoise blue stretched endlessly before us as we walked on the soft white sands.. paradise found, paradise regained. Sorry, John Milton. If you're staying in Culebra, it's really a tiny island and there are limited food options, but all our research pointed to one place- Zaco's Tacos- for some mexican island fare. The food and drink was good, but I'd go back just for the quirky vibes and relaxed atmosphere.. so fun!
When I look for a beach cover-up, I look for lightweight, breezy, no-fuss pieces, but also pieces that are versatile enough to be worn off of the beach. Not only does this Becca Swim crochet number check all the boxes, it hits the trend-o-meter wayy up high too, what with bohemian details like cold shoulders, tie-up neck details and suede everything being all the rage this season. I took the beach in style with pops of red, fringe sandals and a matching suit (current fave bikini I own!), but the cover-up will work just as well in the city as a dress or a tunic over pants with a slip underneath. Win-win, no? :)
Thank you for reading and have a great weekend!
