It may be Tuesday, but I'm still reeling in the joy from the most perfect weekend! K came home from a work trip just in time for us to make a day trip to the beach on Sunday. I'm a complete beach baby and my heart is happiest when my toes are in the sand and my eyes are feasting on some ocean blues. Living in Buffalo means that we get far too little vitamin sea and D, but we do have a pretty mean lake scene in the few months of good weather around now that we try to make the most of! With the sky being just slightly overcast and our rum punches doing their thing, we had a much needed day of relaxation in the sand and sun. You know what they say.. a Sunday well spent is a week's content! :)

Wanting to stay considerably covered up to protect myself from the harsh sun while still being able to remove light layers when getting into the water, I threw on a simple sweater + tank + shorts combo. As always, I counted on the details to set the look apart.. I adore the multicolored and airy knit of the light sweater and the pom pom trim on the pockets of these distressed shorties are just beyond cute! Slides and flatforms are each individually the it shoes for the season, but the mashup of the two in this metallic pair from Lulu's is just the kind of pair I'd take to the beach. (And pretty much everywhere else too, of course!)
