The Plaid Blanket Scarf
/Today's post is proof that I truly, most sincerely love writing in this digital fashion diary I share with you all, because for no other reason would I have braved the most ridiculously windy day of my life! I mean sand-storm raising, people-bumping-into-each-other kind of windy.. someone upstairs was having a hissy fit for sure! But wind or no wind, when Kushal unzips the camera bag, I grit my teeth and hope that my hair doesn't look like someone's strategically placed every strand in a different direction. Which it does look like in today's pictures, I see. Oh well, taking one for the team, I suppose. ;) But what I look like is secondary because what this post is really about, is 1) what great photo ops a pumpkin patch provides, and 2) why a plaid blanket scarf will be the the best money you spent, ever.
Since 1) is going to be pretty much self-explanatory as you scroll through the pictures (which exclude those taken at the hay maze, the petting zoo, etc. Just FYI in case somebody's looking for fun photoshoot locations. ;) ) , let's talk about 2). The Zara tartan blanket scarf was the talk of the town last year, and has been exhaustingly worn by everyone in the fashion world since. While the scarf did seem highly versatile and of much use here in the frigid North East, I couldn't justify spending so much on any one piece of clothing, let alone an accessory. Of course, knock-offs for a fraction of the price have been aplenty on eBay (linked below) but I've held off as I was/am unsure of the quality of the wool (Itchy, scratchy wool is one of my pet peeves). Imagine my delight when I found the perfect plaid blanket scarf at the thrift store recently.. a few good washes later, it's quickly become my favorite new companion.
My first instinct was to play with patterns and wear the plaid scarf with stripes over the neutral colored canvas of black and navy. However, I can envision so many outfits with the scarf as the star of the show, owing to it's versatile color palette that's so perfect for cold weather season. It's cozy as can be, and I love that it's big enough to bury my face in when my nose invariably feels like it's about to fall off.
What do you think of the blanket scarf? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Thank you for reading, and have a wonderful week!
XO Sushmitha :)
